Sometime between 1895 and 1897, Willard graduated with high honors from Albany Business College. (Quaker Street Review, 1895-1897)

The October 12, 1908 issue of Amsterdam Evening Recorder states the following for Delanson news: Willard Auchampaugh is again confined to the house and threatened with another attack of appendicitis.

Willard operated a successful store in Delanson for several years.

In Oct/Nov 1917, he sold his business to Louis Willdove of Rensselaer. (Amsterdam Daily Recorder, 1917)

March 13.—Willard Auchampaugh has purchased a new Packard car. (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, March 13, 1919)

Max Wise has purchased of Willard Auchampaugh, the store building which is now occupied by Mr. Webster, who recently sold out his stock to Mr. Wise. Herchal Fox will move his office into the same building. (Amsterdam Evening Recorder, March 13, 1919)
