Nina Jo Kay passed away on February 4, 2012. She was 75 years old. Nina was born in Portersville, Alabama on May 26, 1936 to Thomas J. and Beluah Mae (Dobbs) Ables. She has been a resident of New City for 48 years, prior from Spring Valley and Portersville, Alabama. She married the love of her life, George, on January 29, 1964. Nina enjoyed cooking and working in her yard. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from her family. Nina is survived by her devoted husband, George; her loving daughter, Georgia Stewart of Hewitt, NJ; cherished granddaughters, Kayla and Christa; and her sisters, Blanche Ables and Christine Ables. Nina is predeceased by her two sisters, Jane Hardy and Jackie Ables, and her brother Horace Ables. Family may receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Services will be held on Thursday, 11am, at the funeral home, followed by interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery.
