Son of Johann Daniel Kober and wife Maria Eva (Eve (Eberhard). Born in PA or between there and MD as his parents bought their land in what is now Westminster, MD in 1759 on Hwy M-97 just north of town. Married to Mary Kemp and farmed near the Monocacy River. Father of 9. In 1769 the father Daniel Kober died young at 45 or 46 year sof age. His 5 sons then changed the spelling of their last name to COVER from that time forward, most likely to Americanize themselves and to not be too tied to their German past?
