She is the sister of Sophronia (1846), Ivey Divigor (1849),Susan (1851), Laura F (1856), Batt (1859), Benjamin Lane (1863) and Eady (1865) Gay.
On July 31, 1873, she married Jonathan Lane Kent in Bulloch County, Georgia. Their children in the Kent family are Andrew Villa (1874), Marietta L. (1876), Brunora Lester (1878), Jonathan Lane, Jr. (1879), Annie (1881), Marcellas D. (1884), Grover Cleveland (1886), Robert Gray Daniel (1888), Daisy (1891), Emma S. (1893), Thomas B. (1897) Kent.
On January 7, 1943, Nora (Gay) Kent, on her 89th birthday, died in Jenkins County, Georgia with burial in the Kent Family Cemetery, Jenkins County, Georgia.
