Jerry F. Benedum, II, 39, a native of Homestead, Fla., and a resident of Poquoson for the past 27 years, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006. He worked for Ventura Turf as a grounds keeper at James River Country Club. Jerry served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 12 years. He was a member of Victory Christian Center, and an avid U.V.A. supporter. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jo Benedum; paternal grandparents, William Franklin and Stella Viola Benedum; maternal grandparents, George Roland and Lottie Elizabeth Crumley; and a brother, Billie D. Taylor. He is survived by his father, Jerry F. Benedum; two sisters, Michele Knueppel and husband, James, and Pamela Jo Taylor; a brother, Bobby D. Taylor and wife, LuAnn; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, and other times at 20 Magnolia Lane, Poquoson. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home by Pastor Donald G. Marsh. Burial with military honors will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park Chapel Mausoleum, Hampton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Victory Christian Center Building Fund, P.O. box 2169, Poquoson, VA 23662
