Daughter of William Kruse and Anna Zillmann and sister of Agnes, Elmer, Linda and Raymond William, Hilda took her nurses training in Chicago. She married another Nebraska native, Worth O. Downer 3 Sep 1933 in Palmer, Merrick Co., NE. The couple lived in York, NE, for a number of years before moving to Oregon.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Hilda A. Downer of Eugene, who died Dec. 12 of age-related causes. She was 96.
She was born June 18, 1910, in Palmer, Neb., to William and Anna Zillman Kruse.
She worked as a nurse for Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Survivors include her son, Al of Bend; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene.
