He was born on Feb. 9, 1924, in Chesterhill, to the late Harry and Glossie Kane Triplet.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a school bus driver for the Morgan Local School System and owner operator of Triplet Auto Parts in Athens, Triplet Wrecker Service and Triplet Water Service in Chesterhill.
He was a member of the Liberty United Brethren Church, near Chesterhill, and Stockport Senior Citizens. He was a legendary longtime late model stock car driver (No. 50) and race track wrecker service owner, for years, known as Bernie.
He is survived by two sons, Stacey (Janie) Triplet of Malta and Stephen Triplet of Zanesville; five daughters, Sherry Mendenhall of Chesterhill, Susan (Mike) Ashley of Chesterhill, Sheila Woodyard (Barnie Howard) of Chesterhill, Shawna (Keith) Tabor of McConnelsville, and Shavonne (Art) Hale of Charleston, WV; daughter-in-law, Georgeann Triplet of Chesterhill; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Armstrong Triplet; one son, Stan Triplet; two brothers, Carroll and Myrkle Triplet; three sisters, Zola Eckard, Pauline Ward and Mary Katherine Anderson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill, with Pastor David Jarvis officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Brethren Church or the Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department.
