He was born January 20, 1946 to the late Johnnie & Nannie Clark Ammons. He was preceded in death his brothers Joseph Franklin Billy Ammons, Jerry, Roger, & Kenny Ammons.
He is survived by his wife Lois May Ammons of Big Spring; 2 children William Charles “Charlie” Ammons of Big Spring, Carol Sue Ford of Hudson; 4 sisters Lucille Crews ( Wayne Hackett) of North Carolina, Ruby (Charles) Creason of Greensburg, Sue (Wayne) Farmer of Big Clifty, & Kathryn (Paul) Souders of Brownsville, KY; 1 brother Paul (Jane) Ammons of Vine Grove.
Funeral services will be held Thursday Sept. 22, 2016 at 11 AM EDT at the Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Big Spring UMC Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday Sept. 21, 2016 from 5 to 9 PM EDT and after 8 AM EDT on Thursday at the funeral home.
