Johnny Lee King "Dad" was son to Perkins King and Essie Mae Beasley in Rosier, Georgia on February 14, 1943.

Johnny graduated from Dillard High School in 1964, after which he did 2 years in the military (Army). He retired from Broward County as a plant operator in Pompano Beach, Florida after 29 years of service.

In 1993 he dedicated his life in service to Jehovah God he loyally served until his death. On May 28, 1994 he married his "capable wife" , Tresa Williams and together they embarked on a life of serving their God Jehovah to the full.

Johnny was known as a man who appreciated the simple things of life. He and Tresa enjoyed traveling, especially cruising the Southern Seas. Known for his generosity, he and Tresa often would assist those they met in the field of ministry, not only teaching them bible truths but also assisting them with provisions just to get by.

After fighting many years years of illness Johnny fell asleep in death on September 19, 2016 at Florida Medical Center in Lauderhill, Florida.

He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife Tresa King, his children Johnny Lee King, Jr., Lisa Yvette Baker and grandchildren; His mother Essie Mae Holland; His sibling Perkins King, Rosa B. Savage, Zellleqe Morris, Malcolm King, Marvey Jones, Ingrid King, Queenie O. Hicks, Tonya Y. King, Dock King, Robert King, Anthony King, Timothy King, Harrison A. King, Jerome Sapp, Anthony Sapp, Elouise Lesane and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
