She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years: Eugene Edwin Swindle; her parents: Sarah Lee Williams Fikes Luft Ford and Robert Franklin Ford; her brothers: Moritz Dugan Luft, Fred Lafayette Luft, Norman Barlow Luft, Robert Franklin Ford, Jr., Jim Gibson Ford; her sister: Dorothy Lee Ford Kennedy.
Left to carry forward her legacy are her children: Dorothy Gene Swindle Sahlmann (Frederick Gustav Sahlmann), Marsha Leigh Swindle Ford Kushner, John Edwin Swindle; grandchildren: Laura Lee Ford Moise (Edward Dimmick Moise), Mark Swindle Ford, Lesley Ellen Kushner, Anthony Robert Kushner (Mark Harris), Eric Allen Kushner (Maighread McCrann); great-grandchildren: Madeleine Claire Moise, Lily Michelle Moise, Natalie Ann Ford, Nicholas Ryan Ford, Ciara Sylvia Kushner, Orla Miriam Kushner; 25 nieces and nephews, and endless enthusiastic friends.
She loved to share her history, maintained her standards, and did not suffer fools. She had a love of music and theater and a passion for painting. Her artist’s eye covered all aspects of her life. She was a sure shot, played a good game of bridge and excelled at dancing.
She became used to city living but missed her large yard in the country. She missed her flowers. She will be missed.
The family owes a debt of gratitude to Lena Mouton for her professional, kind and gentle care.
Service arrangements will be by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Reverend Charles Settle will officiate with visitation at 9:30am and service at 10:30am Saturday, September 24, 2016. She will be interred in Bellwood Annex Cemetery next to her husband and family.
