Bernice J. Hambor

Bernice J. Hambor, 84, of Allentown, passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 in her home. She was the wife of the late James L. Hambor who died in 2004. Born in Allentown, Bernice was a daughter of the late John and Esther (Seisler) Adam. Bernice was a 1944 graduate of the Sacred Heart School of Nursing. After graduation Bernice worked as a registered nurse at the Sacred Heart Hospital for 31 years prior to retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Allentown where she was a member of Friends for Life, the Bereavement Ministry, and Simply Prayer. She was also a member of the St. Francis Center in Bethlehem. Survivors: Surviving is a son J. Michael and his fiancee Nubia of Lake Worth, FL; a brother Gerald and his wife Harriet of Allentown; sisters, Rita Greenamoyer of Whitehall, and Arlene Moyer of North Miami, FL; granddaughters, Maegan Hambor of Sanford, FL, and Kathryn Hambor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter-in-law Cheryl Hambor of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Bernice was predeceased by siblings, Donald Adam and Roseanne Schware. Services: There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, January 18, 2010 at 10 am in St. Pauls Catholic Church. Calling will be on Monday from 8:45-9:45 am in the church. Interment will be on Tuesday January 19, 2010 at 11 am in the Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem. Arrangements entrusted to the ODonnell Funeral Home, 908 Hanover Ave., Allentown. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
