Lawrence Albert Boelcke, 72, of Stevensville, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, MI. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 1650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.

Larry was born on September 24, 1943 in Chicago, IL to the late Albert and Lucille (Hack) Boelcke. On August 6, 1966 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Benton Harbor, MI he married Linda Lou Culver; she preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2012. Larry worked as a foreman along with his brother Richard at Boelcke Heating and Air Conditioning. He was a volunteer fireman with the Lincoln Township Fire Department for 31 years, fire chief from 1990-1995, and retired in 2007. Larry was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed watching golf.

He is survived by two sons – Lawrence ‘Russell’ Boelcke of Baroda and Matthew Boelcke of Benton Harbor; sisters – Marilyn Mort and Marie Jeffries both of Eau Claire; son-in-law Joseph Miller of Baroda; three grandchildren – Jenna, Justin and Jacob; and a great granddaughter – Ayden. Preceding Larry in death is his brother Richard.

A Celebration of Life service will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 10:00 A.M. at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Visitation is on Tuesday, Sept. 20 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lincoln Township Fire Department.
