Margaret Virginia Arvin Richardson, 91, of Crooked Creek, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at her home after a short illness. She was born June 27, 1919, in Estill County, the daughter of the late Algin and Ethel Winkler Arvin. She was a retired teacher who taught in Ohio for several years and then in Estill County. She lived in Estill County most of her life and was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Tonya Richardson; a sister, Edna Eudell; four brothers, Preacher Elbert Arvin, Roy Arvin, Charles Arvin, and Beverly Arvin Sr.
Survivors include her husband, Wade Hampton Richardson Jr.; two daughters, Sharon Dudley, and Karen Bicknell and husband Mike, all of Estill County; a son, Wade Richardson III, also of Estill County; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1 p.m., at the Friendship Baptist Church by Bro. Sherl Thomas and Bro. Scott Rogers, with burial at the Tonya Kim Rogers Richardson Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Mark Puckett, Eric Webb, Tommy Kirby, Doug Cornett, Robert Smith and Keith Adams. Honorary pallbearers were her nephews.
