She married Joseph Thomas Piercy on May 26, 1853 in Putnam County, Indiana and they had 4 children:
George Harvey, born 1854, died 1944
Daniel Allen, born 1857, died 1937
Samuel H, born 1859, died 1862
Mary Emma, born 1863, died 1878
In 1883 she moved to Pingree, Dakota Territory, with her husband, where they homesteaded and farmed.
She was diagnosed with cancer in 1896, and died at their farm near Pingree, North Dakota in 1899.
