Anita, 73, passed away at her home.

She was the daughter of Herman and Pauline (Albers) Poeppelman. On Mar 18, 1964, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Ft. Loramie, she married Theodore J. Barhorst, who survives.

Also surviving are four sisters: Marilyn (Cyril) Hoelscher. Doris (LeRoy) Kramer, Janet (Norman) Barhorst and Mildred Eilerman, all Ft. Loramie; four brothers: Lavern (Mary Jo) and Bernard (Judy), both Ft. Loramie, Robert (Betty), Osgood, and Paul (Dot), Russia; a brother-in-law, George (Helen) Barhorst, Ft. Loramie; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Schlater, Ft. Loramie.

Deceased are a sister, Thelma Poeppelman; and two brothers-in-law: Alvin Schlater and Richard Eilerman.

A 1961 graduate of Ft. Loramie High School, she retired from Amos Press/Sidney Daily News in 1999, where she had been employed for 35 years. She had also been a dedicated homemaker and farm wife. She helped with all of the many parades and horse shows that the Barhorst family took part in. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and had been active in St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Ft. Loramie Athletic Boosters and the Ft. Loramie Historical Society. She enjoyed playing cards, raising flowers and occasionally fishing. She was an avid fan of high school basketball. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband as they visited many states and countries over the years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Michael Church, Ft. Loramie, with Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
