Mary Conner, daughter of Willoughby and Rachel Conner, was first married in Indiana to John Pagett/Padgett. To this union, four daughters were born; Mary Elizabeth (married W.D. Arthur of Phelps Co. Mo.), Priscilla, Sarah Jane (married Alexander Fuller of Phelps Co. Mo.), and Angeline. After John Padgett's death, Mary re-married to Phillip Deem on Sept. 1, 1843. To this marriage, three children were born; Christopher Columbus "C.C." Deem, James K. Deem and Cina Deem. Mary died where she had been boarding for several years at the home of George C. & Sally (Miller) Phelps home near Yancy Mills. Mary lies buried next to her daughter Mary Elizabeth (Padgett) Arthur.
