Caroline Holley was born on May 3, 1800, at Salisbury, Litchfield, Connecticut, the daughter of Luther and Sarah (Dakin) Holley. She married Thomas Tucker Whittlesey. Together they were the parents of Elisha (b. 1829), Luther H. (b. 1833), Thomas (b. 1836), and Caroline Holley (b. 1840). Caroline (Holley) Whittlesey died on June 6, 1841, at Danbury, Fairfield, Connecticut, She was 41 years old.
