Raymond R. Sagan, 89, WWII Army veteran, passed away peacefully September 14, 2016.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia C. nee Malloy. Beloved father of Thomas R. (Candace), Robert R. (fiancee, Anna), Kathleen P. (John) McCaffrey, Timothy R. (Mary Patt), Maureen P. (Oz) Osborne, Daniel R. (Mary) and Eileen P. (Charles) Finch. Cherished grandfather of 17 and great-grandfather of 4. Dear brother of the late Jim, Joe, Sophia and Rose. Brother in law of Margaret (Harry) Gnadt and the late John (Nancy) Malloy.
Ray worked the night shift at International Harvester for 30 years so he could work another full time job during the day. He started Ray Sagan & Sons where his legacy continues through his children. After retiring from International Harvester at age 50, he continued working at Sagan until finally retiring at age 60. After nearly 50 years in business, Sagan & Sons is one of the premier machinery moving companies in the Chicagoland area. His passion besides work, and his wife Pat and kids, was golf. He excelled at the game and played weekly.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 19, 2016 from 3-9pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Friends and family will meet Tuesday at St. Matthew Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg for visitation from 9:30am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
