Chester S. Johnson, 57, of 1600 S. Tuxedo, a grading contractor, died yesterday in a local hospital. A native of Minnesota, Mr. Johnson had lived here 31 years, and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Mr. Johnson owned a garage for 15 years before entering the contracting business in 1945. He was a member of the Stockton Rod and Gun Club and was an avid hunter, fisherman and boater.
Survivors include his wife, V. Irene Johnson; a son, Clifford Johnson, Los Angeles; and five brothers and sisters, Dr. Floyd Johnson, Stockton; Esther Anderson, Stockton; Ruth Marion, Lodi; Dr. Russell I. Johnson, Westminster, and Nellie Massman, Portland, Ore.
