Thomas Amigh Zeak, age 84, passed away on September 8, 2016 at Crowne Point Nursing Home. Born on May 29, 1932 in Altoona, PA to the late David B and Harriett (Arble) Zeak. Tom attended Cathedral Grade School, St. Francis Prep, and Penn State University to study Recreation Education. He later was drafted into the US Army and served in the Korean War. He then went back to school and in 1957 joined the US Air Force. His first assignment was in Homestead, FL in the security service. He married patsy Breen and they had three daughters, Lisa, Susan and Mary Beth. Tom was then transferred to Misawa Japan and practiced Physical Therapy in which he established a complete Occupational; and Physical Therapy Dept. In 1967 Tom and his family were transferred to Reynoldsburg, OH where he continued his work in PT and he and his wife had a son, David. His next journey was to Hickam AFB in Honolulu where he practiced PT until his retirement in 1977 as a MSGT. The family moved to Great Falls, MT and Tom later divorced amd moved back to Columbus where he married Charolene France and had two daughters, one being Kelly Zeak. After raising his girls he became a member of the Flint Ridge Lithic Society where he became a flint knapper making arrowheads and teaching others to do the same. He meet many wonderful people and put on many events regarding native American Lore. Tom was a member of the Boy Scouts of America for 70 years, earning the Eagle Scout with 3 Palms Award, Silver Beaver Award and was a Scoutmaster for 40 of those years. Other achievement include the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame Award, 3 Air Force Commendation medals and the expedition award for the Cuban Crisis. Tom as also a man on the move. Tom was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. He helped many people in need. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Ann and many other family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 5750 North High St., Worthington, OH 43085. Burial will be held at a later date at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona, PA.
