KAREN HARRISON DIES ON SUNDAY
Mrs. Karen Harrison, 85, 10th Avenue and Vilas, a resident of Leavenworth for more than 75 years, died Sunday morning following an illness of the past three years.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Hamar, Norway, Sept 29, 1878, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Olsen. She came to the United States and Leavenworth with her brother, Ole Olsen, in 1887. She attended local public schools and was married to Frank Harrison here on Dec. 24, 1896.
Mr. Harrison was employed for many years by the Great Western Stove Co. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1946. Mr. Harrison died Nov. 3, 1953.
She was a member of the Christian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Berg, 1918 S. 5th, and Mrs. Alice Bozarth, 1123 Spruce; one son, James F. Harrison 1410 10th Ave.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Sexton Funeral Chapel. Rev. Clayton Hildebrand, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Muncie Cemetery. The body is at the chapel.
