Edward E. Staten was born at Lawrence County, Ohio to William and Marrian (née Blankenship) STATON.

He and Ella M. Lamb wed on January 27, 1898 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. They were the parents of four children. Ella passed away on February 13, 1913.
