Dora Belle Shelton, aged 58, died at the Boone County Hospital Friday, July 6. The daughter of Isaac and Clarinda Henderson Taylor, she was born at Wayton on May 30, 1893 and has been a resident of Newton County all her life.
She is survived by her husband John R. Shelton of Deer; five sons, Oscar of Ashland, Oregon, William of Kansas City, Missouri, Ellis of Farragut, Iowa, Gene of Sidney, Iowa and Custer of the U.S Army; one daughter, Mrs. Reed Henderson of Parthenon; two brothers, Sherman Taylor of Wayton, Alvin Taylor of Ft. Smith; three sisters, Minda Taylor of Wayton, Mrs. Martha Denton of Scranton and Mrs. Susie Hudson of Coal Hill and fifteen grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Willie McArtor at the Wayton church Tuesday. Burial was made in the Wayton Cemetery.
