C. DALLAS HAMMOND, well-known and retired farmer of this section, died yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Clayton Martz, 527 N. Mulberry St., after an illness of several months, aged 74 years. Death came as the result of a paralytic stroke suffered sometime ago. He lived on the Showman farm near Lappans for more than 15 years.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Charles W., Lappans; daughter, Mrs. Clayton Martz, at whose home he died; brother, A.K. Hammond, Keedysville; sister, Mrs. W.M. Shipley, Downsville.

He was a member of the La Grange Lodge of Odd Fellows, No. 36, Boonsboro, and First Brethren Church, this city.

Funeral Thursday afternoon, leaving the house at 2 o'clock; services in First Brethren Church, this city; interment in Rose Hill.
