DEATH NOTICE – GEORGE N. PHILLIPPI

George Neff Phillippi, 83, of 627 Hill Top Drive, died Wednesday, May 26, 1971 at Cumberland Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient for the two days.

Born August 18, 1887 in Rockwood, Somerset County, PA, he was a son of the late Uriah Milton and Rebecca Flick (Neff) Phillippi.

Mr. Phillippi was a retired co-owner of the Pennsylvania Lumber and Post Company at Hyndman. He was a member of the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his widow, Agnes Loretta (Swan) Phillippi; two daughters, Mrs. Rebecca Neff (Phillippi) Nagle of Holmes, PA, and Mrs. Betty Day of Wheat Ridge, CO; a son John Abraham “Jay” Phillippi, at home; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

The body is at the Silcox-Merritt Funeral Residence where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Services will be conducted tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church by Reverend Richard Manning. Interment will be in Hillcrest Burial Park (AKA Hillcrest Memorial Park).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
