LEAGUEVILLE - Mass for Albin F. Quitta, 91, Leagueville, will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward's Catholic Church of Athens with the Rev. Pancras Savarimuthu officiating.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Athens, under direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens.

Mr. Quitta died Dec. 9, 2006, in Tyler.

He was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Wymer to the late Otto and Frances Pecena Quitta. He lived in Dallas 1938-1954, Bryan 1954-1974, and moved to Leagueville in 1974 after retiring as a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of St. Edward's Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus KJT and SPJST Lodge at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Simecek Quitta on Nov. 17, 1987; brother, Alfon Quitta; and sister, Lillie See.

Survivors include sons, Wes Quitta, Jacksonville, and Joseph Quitta, Leagueville; daughters, Marie E. Thacker, New Chapel Hill, and Louise Bailey, Lindale; sister, Angelina Sebesta, Bryan; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Wes "Bo" Quitta Jr., Malvin Bailey, Scott Tune, Doug McNeece, Vincent Driggers and Carson Cook.

Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Cook and Vincent T. Driggers.

Family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. and Rosary will be recite 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
