Gregory Warren Spencer, 62, of Vancouver, Washington, died at his home in June 2016. A funeral Mass will be said at St. Birgitta's Catholic Church.
Greg was the sixth of seven children born to Warren and Thelma Spencer on September 6, 1953. He was raised in Baker City often assisting his father in his business the Baker Electric Service. He attended St. Francis Academy until it closed; he transferred to Baker High School graduating with the class of 1972.
He was a student at Southern Oregon Community College but chose to follow in his father's footsteps as an electrician. He was admitted to the apprenticeship program through Local 48 in Portland, OR. At the completion of his studies he received his Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Portland Community College. He joined the Electricians Union and worked in this field for the remainder of his career retiring in 2015. He worked on many construction sites most notably the US Bank in Portland, Oregon, and repairs at Bonneville Dam in The Dalles, Oregon. Greg was highly respected by his coworkers and will be remembered as a very hard worker.
Most recently he was included in the prestigious FAA Airmen Certification database. The database names Greg and other certified pilots who have met or exceeded the high educational licensing and medical standards established by the FAA.
Greg is survived by his sisters ...; his brother ...; his Uncle ... and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Inurnment will take place in Baker City, Oregon, at a later date.
