Milutin Tesla was born in the village of Raduc on February 3, 1819. He was a priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Smiljan and later in Gospic. He wrote many articles in newspapers and magazines about the economic and educational problems of his home region of Lika. He advocated ardently for the formation of Serbian schools and his devotion to education for all Serbian children was immeasurable.
