Survivors: husband, George A Akans Sr., Blaine; daughter and son-in-law; Katherine and William Jacobsen, Palm City, Fla.; son and daughter-in-law George A. Jr. and Patsy Akans, Knoxville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Tommie Burnette, Knoxville, Ruth Sundstrom, Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral service 8:15 pm Friday at Stevens Chapel, Rev. Kerry Bond and Rev. Billy Edmonds officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:15 am Saturday for a 10:30 am Graveside Service and interment, The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at Broadway.
