Carl A Eifert Answers Summons
While his death had been expected for several days, the people of Waverly were shocked and grieved on Tuesday morning when they heard that Carl Eifert had died that morning at 4 o'clock. He had been ailing for many years and for the past six months had been gradually failing in spite of all that medical aid, a strong constitution and unyielding desire to conquer the malady with which he suffered could do for him.
Carl Eifert was born in Waverly Oct 11, 1868 and after completing his school work in the public schools of this city he went into the store with his father and has since been identified with the Eifert Dry Goods store, either as a clerk, part owner or sole manager. He has always been one of the leading and moving spirits in every movement for the betterment of Waverly and in his death the town loses a good citizen and we all lose a good friend.
He leaves to mourn his death, the widow, Mrs. Leota Eifert: one son, Carlton; and one daughter, Leota; his mother, Mrs. John Eifert; one brother, Louis; two sister, Mrs. H J Hoeger of this city and Mrs. Brendecke of Cleveland O.
Funeral services will be held at the home on East Water St South, on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. There will be the Episcopal service at the house, after which the Masonic order will take charge and give the Masonic service at the grave.
