Funeral services for Edward Ray Ratcliff, 76 of Winnsboro will be held at 2 PM Sunday, September 11, 2016 in the chapel of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro with Rev. George Ferrington and Rev. Scott Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Coax Cemetery near Baskin. Visitation will be Saturday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
He was born to Albert Terrill (A.T.) and Myrtle Lois Foster Ratcliff on January 8, 1940 in Winnsboro and passed from this life Thursday September 8, 2016 in Charlyn Nursing Home.
Mr. Ratcliff, a retired carpenter, attended Christian Fellowship Church in Winnsboro. He was also a United States Army veteran who walked with God.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Roy Ratcliff.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Sammie Jean Robinson Ratcliff of Winnsboro; two sons and daughters-in-law Rodney and Carol Ratcliff and Todd and Trishlyn Ratcliff of Prairieville; three granddaughters; Rachel Ratcliff, Olivia Ratcliff and Kaity Ratcliff; two grandsons Jacob Ratcliff and Noah Ratcliff; numerous other relatives and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Todd Canady, Jacob Ratcliff, Noah Ratcliff, Rodney Ratcliff, Todd Ratcliff, Warren Smith and Larry Roberts.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Vernon Ashley, Charles Burns, Sam Canady, Bobby Graham, Bobby LeBlanc, Dennis Poland and Floyd Robinson.
