Josephine E. Reed, 83, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at Carlson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Economy Cemetery, rural El Dorado.
She was born July 30, 1918, in Halstead, the daughter of Boyd and Ida (Chapin) Arrowsmith. On March 8, 1941, she married O. B. Reed in Halstead. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1987. They lived in Cassoday from 1947 to 1953 when they moved to El Dorado. She had made her home prior to living in Cassoday in Sedgwick County. She was a homemaker and worked at several restaurants and as a clerk at Best Cleaners. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church at Bentley, Senior Friends and the Senior Center.
Survivors include: sons and their wives, Oren D. and Beverly Reed and Allen D. and Carol Reed, all of El Dorado; brothers, Ira Arrowsmith of Newton and Max Arrowsmith of Colorado; sister, Dora Bond of Arizona; four grandchildren, Kimberly Wilson of Andover, Amanda O'Kelly of El Dorado, Karisti Kendrick of Newton and Luke Reed of El Dorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold; and two sisters, Phyllis and Ines.
Memorials in her memory for the El Dorado Senior Center may be left at Carlson Funeral Home who has the arrangements.
