Larry Joe DeWitt, 55, of Scottsburg, Indiana passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at I.U. Health University Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana

He was born June 4, 1961 in Seymour, IN, and was the son of the late Joe DeWitt and Reba (Johnson) DeWitt.

He married Merianne (Little) DeWitt on September 22, 1984.

Larry was a Middle School language arts teacher at Austin Middle School in Austin, Indiana and former minister at First Christian Church in Scottsburg, Indiana. He was also a member of the Northside Christian Church and received his Masters in Counseling from Louisville Bible College.

Survivors include, his wife Merianne DeWitt, Scottsburg, Indiana; daughter, Hannah DeWitt, Scottsburg, Indiana; and son, Jacob DeWitt, Scottsburg, Indiana; brothers, Barry (Karen) DeWitt and Garry (Mary Jo) DeWitt, Scottsville, KY.

Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016 at Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana with Pastor George Ross, Pastor Barry DeWitt, Rev. Phil Miller, Rev. Phil LaMaster and Rev. Terry Tyler officiating.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at Northside Christian Church in New Albany, Indiana.

Memorials can be made to Austin Middle School C/O Buchanan Funeral Home.
