Olive Germaine Sloan Jansante, 93, formerly of Bentleyville, died Saturday morning, September 10, 2016, in the home of her daughter, Maureen Helinski.

She was born February 27, 1923, in Ehrnfeld, Cambria County, a daughter of William Patrick Sloan and Eve Tunnecliff Sloan.

A graduate of Centerville High School, she attended California State Teacher's College (now California University of Pennsylvania).

Mrs. Jansante once worked for an aircraft facility and then as a secretarial aide for Bentworth Elementary School.

She was a member of Ave Maria Parish and the parish choir.

Surviving are nine children, Chris (Linda) of Greensburg, Val Jr. (Sue) of Alliance, Neb., Tim (Rose) of Bentleyville, Cindy Carter of Salisbury, Md., Kevin (Sandra) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Zeb (Sandy) of Bethel Park, Jill Wales (Ron) of Canonsburg, Dion (Lori) of Bentleyville and Maureen Helinski (David) of Canonsburg; grandchildren Jeremy, Amanda, Timmy, Derek, Jason, Brittany, Carmen, Luke, Grant and Timothy Jansante; Catrina, Alisha and Waugh Carter, Riley and Glenna Wales, and Joseph and Connor Helinski; great-grandchildren Isaiah Thomas, Brendan Shuly, Maceo Carter, and Jayden, Nikali and Gavin Jansante; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her husband, Valerio R. "Val" Jansante, who died October 1, 2008; three children, Valerie, Jeffrey and Ricky; and siblings William, George, Margaret, Mary, Lois, Regis, John and Patricia.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ave Maria Church, Bentleyville, with the Rev. Edward L. Yuhas, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Ave Maria Parish Women's Guild will pray the rosary at 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
