Belle (Wilson) Turner was born on August 22, 1864 in Tennessee, the daughter of James EWilson - who died before July 1904 - Eliza Ann (Dorris) Wilson (1828-1904).

She was married about 1907 to Eugene Frederick Turner (1868-1942), the one and only known child of Benjamin Blewett Turner (ca 1842- ) and Helen Douglas (Dawson) Turner (1846-1927). Eugene was registrar-bursar of the University of Tennessee colleges of medicine dentistry and pharmacy in Memphis.

Belle was a long-time school teacher and that included Howard Hume and Caldwell schools. She was a member of the Woman's Federation of South Nashville which she served as president and secretary. While in Memphis with her husband - who moved there with the University colleges in 1911 - Belle established the University of Tennessee medical library which was the first medical school library in the South. She was also a member of the Vine Street Christian Church.

Living at 834 Meridian Street, Nashville, Belle was 72 years old and married when she died on July 10, 1937 at Nashville General Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.

She was survived by her husband and by her sister Mrs Amanda (Wilson) Ryan of Nashville.

Funeral Services were held at the chapel of Marshall Funeral Home, and burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.

Most of the above is from her Death Certificate, with E F Turner of 834 Meridian Street as the informant. Additional info is from her published obituary in Nashville Banner on July 12, 1937.
