Doris Dean Scott, 84, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2016. A Celebration of Life will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, at Central United Methodist Church, 5740 Bagby Ave., in Waco. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, September 12, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco.

Doris was born May 24, 1932 to Allie Witt Scott and Mary Lee Scott. Doris worked for Coca Cola Company for many years until she began adopting her three children. After her children were grown, she worked for L.L. Sams until retirement. Doris was a devoted member of Central United Methodist Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Allie Witt Scott and Mary Lee Scott; her sister, Grace Hollister; and one grandchild, Chad Winningham Jr. Doris leaves behind her daughter, Wendy McLennan and her husband, Van; daughter Jenda Winningham; son, Chad Winningham and his wife, Patricia; grandchildren, Jillian and her husband, Bryan, Philip, Janie, Trent, Jacob and his wife, Stephanie, Eric, and Jean Marie; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Kyla, Kaiden, William, Abbygayle, and Kassidy.

The family would like to thank Providence Hospice, Janet, and the entire 3rd floor staff of St. Catherine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
