Ocala - Truman R. Richardson, born March 9, 1927, died September 7, 2016. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Truman was adored by all. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He retired from General Motors after 42 years as an engineer where he developed 16 patent designs, worked on the minute man missile project, and designed alternative fossil fuel engines, including turbine and coal powered engines. Truman was an avid bowler for 73 years. He was the former state of Florida senior bowling champion in 1998-99.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Hannelore; children, Lonnie Richardson, Mark Vickers, Cherie Leonhardt; and step children, Juergen Drengk, Carol Lockwood; 13 grand children and three great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Stephen Richardson.
A life celebration with refreshments will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with a service to follow from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Ocala AMF Galaxy East Bowling Alley meeting room located at 3225 Southeast Maricamp Road. In lieu of flowers, donations to Fox River Congregational Church at N34 W23575 Capitol Drive Pewaukee, WI 53072 or the Humane Society of Marion County Ocala, Florida are welcome.
