Lieutenant Leonard R. "Lenny" Bober, DSN 8322, started his career as a police cadet on May 30, 1972. He worked at the Police Academy and the Communications Division in this capacity. He received his commission and entered the academy on March 5, 1973. After completion of the academy, he worked in the following districts and specialized divisions: the 1st, Mobile Reserve Section, 4th, 6th, 9th, and the 9th District Detective Bureau. Officer Bober was promoted to the command rank of Sergeant on September 25, 1991 and worked in the 8th, 9th, Quality Control Unit, and the 9th District. Sergeant Bober was promoted once again to the rank of Lieutenant on June 29, 2000 and was transferred to the 9th District, where he served as a Watch Commander. Lt. Bober was subsequently transferred and became the Commander of the Central Patrol Detective Bureau. Lt. Bober retired on January 5, 2009, having served 35.84 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

Beloved husband of Karen Bober (nee Studley). Loving father of Michael (Jessica) Bober, Michelle (David) Migliazzo and Melissa (William) Lickenbrock. Cherished grandpa of Riley, Taylor, Marissa, Mia, Dominic, Tristan and Braden. Brother of Richard Bober, Lorraine Ogden, Edward Bober, the late David Bober and the late twin brother of Lawrence Bober. Lt. Bober was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Bernard & Emma (nee Moor) Bober. Beloved friend of Gerry Bucher. Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
