Published in The Paducah Sun, Paducah, McCracken Co., Ky., 19 May 2002 - Mary McGowan Bristol, 94, of Paducah died at 7:40 a.m. Saturday at Medco Nursing Home.
A Lovelaceville native, Mrs. McGowan was a retired recorder for U.S. Steel in Gary, Ind. She was a member of Heartland Worship Center, the Elder Bloom Club, Lourdes Senior Association and the Retired Service Volunteer Program.
She is survived by six grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Bristol; two sons, Earl L. Bristol and James H. Bristol; a daughter, Myreah Ruth Bristol; a brother; and two sisters. Her parents were Henry and Dellie Scott McGowan.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Johnny Sams will officiate.
