Betty Nixon was the daughter of Walter and Anna Hendrix Nixon. One of seven children she was born in McCurtain, Haskell County, Oklahoma. At least one of her brothers, Howard Nixon, preceded her to Ajo, Arizona, in 1947. Betty arrived in Ajo in 1955 and lived there until 1969. Her first husband may have been Wilburn Clark Sr. Her second husband was Patrick Royball. Betty died in Challis, Idaho on November 19, 1984. She was survived by her sons Wilburn Clark Jr of Ajo and Donald L. Detrick of Tyronne, New Mexico. Also survived by her daughters Virginia Foxwell, Norma Creignton, Jo Ann Detrick, Jerrie Lynn Lane and by her mother Anna Nixon of Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma. Betty and was buried in Ajo with her maiden name "Nixon".
