Basil Kleckner Gardner was the son of Chester U. and Ethel Kleckner Gardner. He was born in Jackson Township, Carroll County, Indiana and was delivered by Dr. H. Y. Mullin.

He was a truck driver for Inland Steel Company in Indiana Harbor, Ind. He had a garage in Deer Creek, near Camden, Ind., and later moved to Texas where he worked for the Ford Implement Company.

In 1943 he became a member of the West Sonora Lodge 706 Masonic Lodge and also the Eastern Star, both of Deer Creek.

First marriage: Jeanne Beck of Young America, there were no children. They were divorced January 25, 1971 in Hunt County, Texas.

Second marriage: Helen Parks Burnette, October 8, 1979.

No services were held; his ashes were scattered over Madera Canyon.
