The funeral for Robert James Blackburn Sr., 69, of New Market will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Fairview Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Sam Lindsay and the Rev. Jerrald Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was born December 7, 1907 at Friendsville, Tenn., and was a son of the late Horace Ashley "Ash" and Sarah Christina Angel Blackburn.
He was a sales representative for Bates and Klinke Inc. of Attleboro, Mass. and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
On September 18, 1965, he married the former Gladys Lorraine Buhl, who survives.
Also surviving are two children, Robert James Blackburn Jr., of Greenbelt, Md., and Mrs. Barbara Catherine Mauck of Enterprise, Ala., three grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Barbara Moore of Maryville, Tenn.
