Lafe Abney, 75, of Rt. 3, Mt.
Vernon, died Thursday, February 26 1997 in Berea. He was bom on July 20, 1922 in Rockcastle County, the son of the late Charlie and Eva King Abney. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors are two brothers, Will. iam Abney of Mt. Vernon and Elmer Abney of Covington; two sisters, Ida Johnson of Mt. Washington and Pearl Adams of Covington and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Vaughn Abney; four brothers, Walter.
Espie, Claude and Dillard Abney and two sisters, Ollie Adams and Bessie Laswell.
Services were Sunday, March 1, at the Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harvey Pensol officiating.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Abney, Randy Abney, David Abney, Paul Adams, Michael Adams and Jimmy Vaughn.
