VETERANS RECORD FROM NATIONAL ARCHIVES--Hugh & Emma were married on 14 Apr 1864 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Emma died in 1902. Hugh had enlisted from Fairplay, Grant County, Wisconsin on 01 Dec 1861. On 05 Dec 1861, he was commissioned a First Lieutenant of Co. G, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry. He resigned his commission on 03 May 1862. He enrolled on 28 July 1862 in Co. A, 2nd Reg Arkansas Cavalry Volunteers. He was discharged 02 June 1863. COD pulmonary disease-catarrah of stomach. MILITARY HEADSTONE--"Lieut Co. G, 3rd Wis. Cav."

Hugh Calhoun, a veteran of the late civil war, died in Prescott yesterday, of consumption, aged 55 years.
He will be buried tomorrow afternoon under the auspices of Barnett Post, Grand Army of the Republic.
