Bertha Amelia Fischer Behimer passed away Nov. 27, 2006, after spending a lively Thanksgiving with relatives in Helena.

Bertha was born in Charter Oak, Iowa, on June 26, 1916. She was one of six children. In her teens, she moved to Columbus. She married Gerald Behimer in Columbus on May 16, 1942. Most of their marriage was spent in Lewistown, where they raised their three children, Ron, Barbara and Linda.

Bert and Gerry enjoyed golf and picnics in the beautiful mountains surrounding Lewistown. After Gerry's death, Bertha moved to Helena, residing at Hunter's Pointe. She very much enjoyed the people and activities there.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, Gerry, and her great-grandson, Bryce Puckett.

Bertha is survived by her sister, Marie Fischer, from Stockton, Calif.; her son, Roll (Dolly) Behimer of Sandpoint, Idaho; daughter, Barbara (Mark) Fries, of Helena; and daughter Linda (John) Haggerty of Ft Collins, Colo.; four grandchildren, Shawn (Scott) Thomasich, Kim (Tom) Puckett, Kami Garrett and Brad (Miki) Alexander. She had nine great-grandchildren,Bailey and Danika Thomasich; Sam and Blake Puckett; Ellie, Eve and Will Garrett, Wyatt and Mason Alexander.

At Bertha's request, no ceremony will be held. She lived a long, happy and eventful life and will be missed greatly by many family members and friends.
