MARY M. HATCHER (nee Gwinn) of Medford Lakes, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 5th, 2016. She was 76 yrs. of age.

Born in Champaign, IL, she has resided in Medford Lakes since 1973. She is the daughter of the late John F. and Hazel Gwinn and is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Kansas. Mary was a Tenured Professor of English, she began her career at Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ; later she taught at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ where she created the college's first African American Literature course.

In her pursuit of a full, peaceful and happy life, she enjoyed theater, orchestra, traveling and art; and she held dear the advancement of education and women's rights.

She is the Beloved Wife of William R. Hatcher of Medford Lakes, NJ and the Loving Mother of Eugene G. Hatcher and his wife Amy of Huntersville, NC and Jeffrey R. Hatcher and his wife Liv of Moorestown, NJ. She is also survived by her sister Karen Sobol of Carmel, IN and her grandchildren Olivia, Katherine and Lena.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ and on Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of the Woods in Medford Lakes, NJ, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in the Park View Cemetery in Medford, NJ.
