She married Charles A. Fick on June 20, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Ruth and Charlie moved from Milwaukee to a farm west of Amberg in 1946 and they were both happy to spend the rest of their lives there. She loved to cook and bake and there are a few in the area who have not enjoyed her German potato salad, cinnamon rolls or home baked bread and rolls. Nothing made her happier than to feed anyone who walked into her kitchen. You could talk her into or out of anything or gain her complete forgiveness with a hug, especially a "hard one".
Ruth is survived by her six children: Chuck (Carol) Fick, Joan (David) McTrusty, Dale (Gail) Fick, Marilyn (Red) Klingman, Paul (Laurie) Fick, all of Amberg, WI and Steven (Vicki) Fick of Pembine, WI.
15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren,
other relatives and lots of friends.
She will be fondly remembered and missed by all of them and especially the jammed Christmas madhouse at Gramma's. Nothing pleased her more than to have her driveway full of cars and her house and yard full of people.
Her brothers were Fred, Robert, William Mallwitz and Edward Mallwitz and her sisters were Lorraine Mallwitz, Nancy Tadish, and Geri Huebner. She was the last surviving family member.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday September 9, 2016, at Grace Lutheran Church in Pembine with Pastor Jeremy Nausin officiating. Family and friends may call at Church on Thursday from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
