Born Oct. 14, 1920, in Maddensville, he was the son of the late Harrison and Carrie (Locke) Park. He was united in marriage to the former Geraldine Dumm March 26, 1949, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Mount Union. His wife survives at their home.
Mr. Park is survived by two children, Donald E. Park of Boalsburg and Cynthia “Cindy” (Park) Sunderland and her husband, Darwin, of McVeytown; five grandchildren, Michael Park, Brian Park, Lindsay Pecht, Megan Sunderland and Gloria Dunn; and six great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by a sister, Lois Hampton of Lewistown.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Harrison Park, Ruth Adams, Mabel Walls, Sarah Park, Ada Black and Grace Grissinger.
Mr. Park served in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1944-1947, in the South Pacific Theater stationed in Iwo Jima.
He was a member of the Simpson-Hunt American Legion Post No. 107 and the Blue Juniata VFW Post No. 5754, both of Mount Union.
He attended the Three Springs schools.
Mr. Park retired after many years of employment in the service department of Huston Ford, at both theHuntingdon and former Mount Union dealerships. He worked primarily as a body repairman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Jerry Wise officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Union Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
