She was born November 17, 1919, in Carp, IN to the late William H. and Estella Mae (Keller) Edwards. She was the tenth of twelve children. She was educated in a one room school house until she passed the eighth grade. She later obtained her GED.
She was married to and divorced from Samuel L. Pearson who died on March 3, 1999. They had three children; Linda Stevens of Cloverdale, IN, Sandy McCammon (husband George) of Lafayette, and Cecil Pearson of Pope Valley, CA.
On September 5, 1953 she married Emery DeLong and he died on May 11, 1980.
Marian lived most of her adult life in Greencastle, IN. She worked at the Greencastle Curtain Factory and was a cook for several DePauw fraternities and sororities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greencastle. Marian and Emery moved to Lafayette in 1979. They were members of the Faith Baptist Church.
Marian is also survived by a sister Marguerite DuMars of Santa Ana, CA, seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 10 brothers and sisters, and a grandson.
Funeral Information Services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 3 pm at Fisher-Loy Funeral Chapel in Lafayette. Visitation will be prior to services from 1-3 pm.
