A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Gertie B. McNeal will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Rickey Gremillion officiating. Burial will be in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family requests that visitation be observed Wednesday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

Mrs. McNeal, 85, of Pineville passed from this life, Monday, September 5, 2016 at her residence.

She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Altar Society for many years and serving as president for one year, and was a CCD teacher. During her working career she was an LPN for forty years, retiring in 1986 from Alexandria Cardiology Clinic as nurse to Dr. P. K. Kaimal. She was a member of the first class held for EMTs at Rapides Regional.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ercil E. W. McNeal; daughters, Daphne Sue Bordelon and Kimberly Secoy; parents, George Emile and Elma Borel Bordelon; brother, Gene Bordelon; sister, Georgia Rathnow.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Donna M. McNeal; grandchildren, Kenneth Kyle Secoy, Christopher Cole Secoy, and Robert Addam Secoy, Amy Altenberger and Carrie Bruce; great grandchildren, Will Bruce, Corey Altenberger, Jackson Secoy, Savanna Setliff and Danielle Rox; great great grandchildren, Bentlee Setliff, Riley Rox, Sawyer Rox and Julee-Anne Setliff.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Secoy, Christopher Secoy, Mark Bruce, Robbie Setliff, Cory Altenberger and Kenneth Secoy. Honorary pallbearers will be Addam Secoy and Will Bruce.
